I’ve followed a guide to defining and setting custom resolution using xrandr, but it doesn’t seem to be working properly. Light-weight programs seem to run reasonably, as long as you have a little patience mostly when you first open them. You cannot add mode that is bigger than your screen, if you want bigger desktop you can only do this in framebuffer –fb option. Best of luck Cheers. I cannot understand the command and how to work with it. I am happily running Slackware-current, but any distribution should be OK.
